Why New Era
A wide range of co-curricular activities at New Era High School provide every child an opportunity to fly high and identify the hidden talents in themselves. All the children are encouraged to participate in various co-curricular activities organised for them. We cherish the principle where learning goes beyond the four walls of the classroom. Along with a holistic and comprehensive curriculum, extracurricular activities have an important role in the balanced development of a child. Our students respond marvellously with enthusiasm, energy and involvement to various activities. Thus, implementing the holistic growth as well as developing the various facets of personality of the children.
Yoga : Yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in India. So, we have inculcated Yoga in our school for self development and spiritual growth of students. Thus providing students to learn the timeless science of Yoga, which is the only holistic tradition. We prepare students to live a life inspired through Yoga.
Dance and Music : We are immensely proud of the Performing Arts in New Era High School. Performing Arts plays a key role for students’ personal development; the subjects of Music and Dance has provided all of our students with so many rich and varied opportunities to experience the arts, which develops creative, confident and capable students, who go out into the world and impress others with their abilities. The Performing Arts faculty is staffed with specialist teachers. Our school consists of a Head of Music, a Head of Performing Arts who teaches both music and dance. Students learn about and explore performance, composition, appreciation of dance, and health and fitness.
Workshops : Many workshops are conducted in our school not only for students but for the parents who gives the opportunity to develop skills, aspirations and confidence.
Drama : Our school gives children opportunities to explore, discuss and deal with difficult issues and to express their emotions in a supportive environment through Drama. It enables them to explore their own cultural values and those of others, past and present.
Educational Trips : Educational trips provide valuable educational opportunities away from the classroom, without using textbooks and other tools used in a normal school setting. Student on Educational trips can often learn while having fun in a more informal environment.
Sports : The school has an active sports complex which offers facilities for varied team and individual sports such as cricket, dodge ball, table-tennis and so on. Every year students compete in different categories in these sports as a part of the sport day. Apart from playing and practicing through the year students are also encouraged to play traditional sports like kabbaddi and kho-kho.
Students are encouraged to attend a wide variety of cultural events and, in that way, gain an important glimpse into life beyond the School. By attending cultural events, Students experience firsthand the diverse offerings of culture and artistic expression found in a community.
Qualified cultural events
- A live performance of music, dance, drama, or poetry recitation.
- Celebration of festivals like Christmas, Ganesh Chaturthi, Eid, Navratri, Diwali, etc.
- Celebration of World Environment day, International Yoga Day, World Literacy Day, National Reading day, Constitutional Day.
We give a platform to the students to show their unique skills and talents which help them to achieve their educational and professional goals. We believe that participation is more important than winning so, we motivate the students that even if they don’t receive any of the big prizes, they can still benefit from the opportunity to challenge themselves.
